Introducing the New Collection
Botanically Brewed · Naturally Sparkling · Ethically Sourced
Explore the CollectionOur Story
Verdaine began not in a boardroom, but in a garden in Fujian Province — where our founder, Camille Aubert, spent two formative years learning the art of high-mountain tea cultivation from third-generation farmers who measure time in seasons, not quarters.
What she brought back was not just knowledge, but a philosophy: that great flavour is the residue of exceptional care. Every ingredient in Verdaine carries a provenance, a face, a story.
The sparkling element was a serendipitous discovery — a naturally carbonated spring near our Himalayan sourcing partner's estate. The effervescence felt alive, mineral-bright, like the land itself wanted to speak.
We spent three years perfecting the infusion method: cold-brew concentration, low-pressure carbonation, and zero artificial additives. The result is a drink as complex as wine, as grounding as ceremony.

The Collection
What's Inside
Harvested just once yearly during the spring flush, White Peony (Bai Mu Dan) leaves are sun-dried on bamboo trays by the Zheng family using an unbroken technique passed through four generations. The result is a tea of extraordinary subtlety — light on tannins, rich in amino acids, with a natural sweetness that needs no augmentation.
The Nilgiri hills produce what connoisseurs call "frost tea" — harvested during the cold winter months when temperatures dip and slow the growth, concentrating flavour into dense, malty notes. Our estate partner, Korakundah, is the world's highest-certified organic tea farm. Each leaf is hand-plucked to two-leaves-and-a-bud standard.
Cultivated by Akha hilltribe communities whose relationship with tea predates colonial influence by centuries, this lightly oxidised oolong occupies the exquisite spectrum between green freshness and black depth. We source exclusively from the Hilltribe Cooperative, ensuring premium pricing reaches the farmers directly — no middlemen.
Deep crimson Hibiscus sabdariffa, grown by women's cooperative COOPTHE-RWANDA on the shores of Lake Kivu. The flowers are harvested at peak bloom, sun-dried naturally, then cold-extracted to preserve their vivid anthocyanin pigment and tart intensity. No artificial colour has ever crossed our threshold — this ruby is entirely real.
True lavandin fine — not the common hybrid — from fields that bloom purple for exactly three weeks each July. The Roure family has grown lavender on this plateau for 80 years, harvesting by traditional sickle at dawn when the essential oil concentration peaks. We use only the flower buds, slow-distilled in small copper alembics to extract the most delicate aromatic fractions.
Our Commitments
Every decision at Verdaine is filtered through a single question: will this harm the next generation of farmers, forests, or communities? Here is where we stand.
We offset 73% of our operational carbon footprint through verified Gold Standard projects — Rwandan cookstove programmes and reforestation in Fujian Province. Net zero by 2027.
Every vessel — glass bottle, paper label, cardboard shipper — is made from recycled or certified-sustainable materials and is 100% kerbside recyclable. We eliminated all plastics in 2023.
Across six countries, 12 long-term farming partnerships with direct trade premiums averaging 38% above commodity price. We co-invest in crop insurance, children's education, and healthcare access.
Our cold-brew infusion process uses 40% less water than conventional hot-brew methods. Spring water is sourced from a certified sustainable aquifer in the Jura mountains.
One tree planted for every 20 cases sold, in partnership with Trees for the Future. Prioritising shade trees that improve tea quality while sequestering carbon and restoring biodiversity.
Our production facility in Lyon runs on 100% renewable energy — solar array on the roof, wind power purchase agreement for the remainder. Zero fossil fuels in our operations since Q1 2024.

Behind the Blend
Isabelle came to tea via perfumery — twelve years at a Grasse fragrance house gave her a vocabulary for scent that transformed how she approaches flavour. She describes her role less as mixing and more as composition: identifying which notes carry, which rest, and where the silences matter.
Each Verdaine blend took between 18 and 36 months to finalise. Hundreds of iterations. The final four were those that made her pause mid-sip.
